TAKE ONE SMALL STEP

Start eating from a
9-inch plate to avoid portion distortion. Since the 1980s, the standard size of a dinner plate has grown from 9-10½ inches to 12 inches in diameter, the size of a European dinner platter. Restaurants plates are even larger, averaging out at 12½ inches across. Studies have shown that when a person eats off a smaller plate, they consume up to 30 percent less!
